Re: Lossless Legs |
Thanks tiger. Some of us have good reason to be a bit paranoid about bigbrother(rhino) so... Good to hear. I need to get my ratio up some more anyway.

Re: Lossless Legs |
Hey now! Lighten up on Rhino. They've consistently put out good quality stuff at VERY affordable prices. Shit, you can get that VH1 special ( that Rhino distributes ) Anthem to BEauty on DVD for $10.
If you want to be upset at anyone get upset at the band. NOT Bobby, all of them. I'm not upset at them for protecting their legacy or anything like that, not at all. I'm just frustrated at
a) the fact that there is a bunch of video they're sitting on and doing nothing about
and
b) they take forever to release stuff and when they do it's something I already have.
Here's what they should do. Face it, their fan base is dwindling. Period. What they should do is sell a subscription to download. Not per DL , but per month and/or bytes, Then release the super duper multi track stuff. Relase best of runs or whole runs. And fer christsakes release the freakin video already! Sunshine Daydream? What about the fact that there's supposed to be a LOT more from the 74 Winterland run. Relase it! WTF you waiting for?

Re: Lossless Legs |
hey johnny rhino is in control of the videos and music for the next ten years and they have put out two shows since the buy out last summer.little old grateful dead productions did a lot better than that.we use to get like three dick's pick a year, plus other shows other than dick's pick.hope rhino picks up the pace, the next release is out in june but that's been done since april 1992 but canned by phil at the time(2-19-71)so far i'm not happy with rhino and warner brothers cutting jobs at rhino has not helped.anyway i hope they pick up the pace.

Re: Lossless Legs |
I hope they do too but it isn't like they made the deal then could put something out the next day is it? Maybe there was some BS red tape that needed to be worked out. I don't know. They did the Jerry Box set and that was pretty kick ass. In fact they did the other two as well no?
I agree I hope they pick up the pace. Is there any kind of band input too? Can they release whatever they want?

Re: Lossless Legs |
actually from what i read JOTS the jerry box set,cow palace and 2-19-71 which is coming out next month where done before rhino took over, the jerry box set was delayed by koons.2-19-71 was put on hold by phil in 1992.not sure why cow palce was delayed.the band from what i read at gd forum at the well has input,at least david is still on board.i think he mentioned dick's picks will be back but he was unsure when.by the way a nice guy and everybody should send him a email vault at dead.net and thank him for the tapers section.sent him a thank you myself yesterday.like you said who knows what the red tape is and how it effects everything.imho grateful dead productions did a great job.

Re: Lossless Legs |
I agree about GDP. Who knows, maybe Rhino HAS dropped the ball. I guess I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt for now because I've allways thought they did pretty respectable work for a record label. Whatever the case it'd be smart to get on the ball sooner than later.

Re: Lossless Legs |
In the meantime, we can post our torrent trackers on the old P2P services. I found a few of them on BearShare the other day. You can still load them into your BT clients and download if they are still active.
All I did was set the files selector to "everything" and then search the list for torrents. I should have some more WHO later tonight. Lots of inactive junk though and this is a crapshoot...
